GOAL 2: HEALTHY PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE, HEALTHY FOOD, AND EDUCATION

Access to healthy, fresh foods at Mom's Market

Food and grocery options are limited in Ivy City.   Mom's Market offers organic foods and accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for low income individuals.  For residents on fixed-incomes, this is an attempt make a local supermarket accessible.

There is a homeless shelter that offers medical services to its residents, but there isn't a public clinic.

DCPS does not have a school site in Ivy City (after the closure of Crummell School in the 1970s).

Would DC government consider including more supports to enable a health population here?
