GOAL 3: FOSTERING HUMAN CONNECTIONS AND SOCIAL COHESION

DC Ward 5 plans to develop the abandoned Crumell School into a community center.  Located in the heart of Ivy City, it is envisaged that this will provide comprehensive community services including a day care, health clinic, recreational facility, and culinary training courses.  However, recent reports deem these critical components of social cohesion as optional.

Ivy City has a considerable number of religious institutions (churches and a mosque), including five or six within the small neighborhood.  Could these organizations come together on a joint community project?
